Islam does not = terrorism

“My God, I cannot believe some of the jaded comments I am reading here! I study Middle Eastern politics and society in Australia and it would do many of you good to pick up a book and read up on what Islam actually preaches, rather than blindly following the ignorant rhetoric of another misguided fool. Islam preaches no more violence than does Christianity, Judaism or Catholicism. You talk solely of terrorism and Islam as being one - well let me tell you that the US, Australia, Britain, Israel, Russia and numerous other nations have as much blood on their hands as any other would-be terrorist. I agree these murderers need to be brought to justice, but if people get took caught up in the moment and start bringing volatile element like religion into it, then the wrong people are going to get hurt. The Qur'an speaks no more of justified killing than the Bible, this ideal that Islam is violent and extreme comments like Muhammad being a terrorist is outrageous, ignorant and offensive.

You cannot call this a war against militant Islam, that idea is preposterous, it is a war against terrorism - plain and simple. It is simply incidental if they are radical Islamists. The US has a truckload of militant Christians - more than you could point a stick at! You have Christians who believe with all their heart it is there right to bare arms - I would call them militant - but I wouldn't call them a terrorist and I'm not about to declare war on them. So, understand that this is a war on TERRORISTS, in spite of religion.
